- Use table-based layouts instead of CSS-layouts with <div> tags. Often, the email clients are more reliable at rendering the content in tables. Some programs, such as Microsoft Outlook 2007, do not support the float tag when using CSS to create columns.

- Use bullet points and numbered lists. Lists are easy to scan and they help the reader absorb each item one at a time.
- Limit each article to a single concept. Add resources such as web sites where longer articles or more information can be found.
